Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MemLife (the “Service”) at memlife.me, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
MemLife is a digital memorial experience — the Corridor of Origins — in which you may cast permanent symbolic inscriptions: short text messages or brief voice recordings (“Inscriptions”). The first text Inscription of each calendar year is free of charge. Additional Inscriptions, within the annual limits below, may be unlocked by one-time purchase.
3. Purchases, Credits and Annual Limits
- Prices are shown at checkout in your local currency and are charged in US dollars: US$0.99 for one additional text Inscription, US$1.99 for one voice Inscription.
- All payments are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record. We never receive or store your card details.
- A purchase creates a credit tied to your device identifier. A credit is consumed at the moment the corresponding Inscription is cast.
- Up to six Inscriptions (text and voice combined, including the annual free Inscription) may be cast per calendar year. The counter resets on January 1.
- Credits that have not been consumed do not expire while the Service operates.
4. Permanent Nature of Inscriptions
Once cast, an Inscription cannot be edited, transferred, or deleted. This permanence is the essential purpose of the Service. By casting an Inscription you confirm that you have the necessary rights to its content and that you accept its irreversible nature. Fees for cast Inscriptions are non-refundable (see our Refund Policy).
Paid Inscriptions are recorded on the Arweave blockchain, a permanent, decentralised storage network. Once recorded, the underlying data cannot be altered or removed by anyone, including MemLife. This is what makes an Inscription permanent. It also means responsibility rests with you: cast nothing you may ever need to take back. Where an Inscription violates these Terms or applicable law, MemLife may hide it from display within the Service and may report it to public access gateways, but cannot erase the underlying record.
5. Acceptable Use and Content Policy
You agree not to cast Inscriptions containing content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes the rights of others; not to impersonate any person; and not to interfere with the Service by automated or excessive means.
Without limitation, the following are strictly prohibited and will be blocked before any blockchain recording takes place: (a) any content that sexually exploits or sexualises minors; (b) terrorist or violent-extremist material, or genuine threats of violence against any person; (c) publishing another person’s private information (such as identity numbers, home addresses or phone numbers) with intent to expose, harass or harm them; (d) content that violates applicable child-protection or anti-trafficking law in any jurisdiction.
We screen submitted text and voice content before it is recorded on-chain, using automated filtering and, where warranted, review by the team. Casting may be refused, and a device identifier may be blocked from creating further Inscriptions, where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken. Prohibited content that nonetheless reaches display may be hidden from the Service immediately.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to the content you submit. By casting an Inscription, you grant MemLife a worldwide, perpetual and irrevocable licence to store, reproduce and display that Inscription as an integral part of the Service, to the extent necessary to operate and preserve the Corridor. The design, visuals, text and software of the Service are the property of MemLife.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and long-term preservation of Inscriptions is provided on a best-effort basis. The Service is a symbolic memorial experience and is not a data-storage, backup, or archival service.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MemLife’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) US$100. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Contact and Reporting
Questions about these Terms: ziranbing17@gmail.com
To report abusive or illegal content, e-mail ziranbing17@gmail.com with the word “REPORT” in the subject line and the coordinate of the Inscription in question. We review every report and hide violating content from display as a first step.
