Privacy Policy

1. Overview

MemLife (“we”, “us”) operates memlife.me, a digital memorial experience. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible: no account, no password, and no name is required to use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

• Device identifier. A random code generated on your device (for example umu9mr8mdx2qpxnx7) and stored locally. It links your inscriptions and purchased credits to your device so the Service can be restored if you clear your browser cache.
• Inscription content. The text or short voice recording you choose to cast. Voice inscriptions are stored as compressed audio files on our server. This content is displayed inside the Corridor as part of the experience.
• Aggregate counters. Star counts, message tallies and annual inscription usage, which contain no personal data.
• Checkout information. Payments are processed by Paddle.com (Merchant of Record). Your email address and payment details are received and handled by Paddle under its own privacy policy; we only receive a transaction reference and your device identifier so we can credit your purchase. We never see your card number.
• Server logs. Standard web-server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp) kept briefly for security and troubleshooting.

3. How We Use Information

We use the device identifier and counters to operate the Service: restoring your corridor, tracking annual free inscriptions, applying purchased credits, and preventing abuse. We use server logs to keep the Service secure and available. We do not profile you, and we do not use your information for advertising.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The Service uses no advertising or tracking cookies. It stores your language choice, your device identifier and your inscription archive in your browser’s local storage, and keeps a session cookie for technical operation only.

5. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your information. We share data only with: (a) Paddle.com, to process payments; (b) our hosting and e-mail providers, strictly to operate the Service; and (c) authorities, where we are legally required. Because inscriptions are permanently displayed in the Corridor, their content is by design visible to anyone who visits the Service.

6. Retention

Inscriptions are permanent by design and are retained for the lifetime of the Service; this permanence is the essential purpose of the product (see our Terms of Service). Checkout records are retained as long as required by tax and accounting law. Server logs are deleted within 90 days.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/EEA, UK and California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Because the Service is account-free, these requests are handled by device identifier: contact us with the identifier shown in your corridor view. Note that cast inscriptions cannot be deleted, as explained above; all other personal data can be erased on request.

8. International Transfers

The Service is hosted in Singapore and payments are processed by Paddle in the United Kingdom. Your data may therefore be processed outside your country of residence, under the safeguards described in this policy.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). If you believe a child has cast an inscription or made a purchase, contact us and we will remove the non-inscription data associated with that device identifier.
